Posts on X about ocean heat
"The Earth Energy Imbalance is now at a record 1.36 Watts per square metre. This looks like a small value, but it corresponds to an average of 11 Hiroshimas of excess energy per second accumulating in Earth’s climate system over the past three years."https://t.co/FPt4odRUS2 pic.twitter.com/KPgITjhAxu

The climate crisis is spiralling out of our control. 1000s of fish washed up dead this summer in the Gulf of Mexico because the water was too hot to hold oxygen.

This is a climate emergency. There is no time to wait. #ActOnClimate#EndFossilFuels pic.twitter.com/U1xJUXWTxM

I read the Copernicus paper.
My estimates below are based on figures 3c & 9a.

People also seem to want to know, and understand what contributes to the record high Earth's Energy Imbalance. https://t.co/ayjDa9RT8o
This is so crazy.

The Northern Hemisphere used to radiate more heat to space than it absorbed from the sun.
The difference was made up for by heat transported north from the Southern Hemisphere through (mainly the Atlantic) oceans and atmosphere.

The August 2023 CERES data just came in and the 36 month running mean for the Earth Energy Imbalance (EEI) just hit a new record high, at 1.66 Watts/m². That's the same as about 13.5 Hiroshima bombs per second in excess Earth heating over the last 3 years.

Earth's Energy Imbalance won't stop at 'net-zero'.
